Please call me Rev
As of a few days ago I am officially ordained. Woot woot. The council approved it this week in part so that I could marry Johanna. They were planning to ordain me this fall sometime anyway. Paul and I decided that we would do a ceremony and public recognition/blessing at the end of my intersnship however, so that won't be for another nine months or so. In other news, Rachel is still doing great and getting slowly larger. We have our big ultrasound session on October 10, the day after the marathon. Rachel and I are trying to figure out if we can get a t-shirt made for her for the race that says "Baby's First Marathon" and has a drawing of a fetus with running shoes and an iPod, placed squarely over her belly. If any of you who are artistically inclined want to help by making a sketch of that and sending it to me, I'd love it. I can't draw worth beans. Last Saturday for our long run our running club ran from Holland to Grand Haven, 18 miles. Jason Koedyker's parents live there - they had cold drinks and a huge lunch spread waiting for us when we got there, and drove us back to Holland. It was great. I'll post a picture of us after the run that I stole from my other blog. I set up that site so that my college friend diaspora could keep in touch better, and it has been great. Thanks for the inspiration, Sarah and Jamie.

Congrats, bro! I know that it took a lot of time and energy to get Rev'd - I'm proud of you. Let us know how the first marraige goes. Er, I mean... how the first officiating goes. :)
And keep the baby updates coming!!
Thanks mom and James. You want a cute pregnancy picture of Rachel? Check this out.
Congratulations, Jared!
You become Rev. and Father in the same year, no small feat.
Way to go Jared!!! We are so proud of you. It's so much fun just to watch what God is going to do next with you. We're just hanging on for the ride!
Dad
